BOSaNOVA Link & Talk

Click and chat over the Internet is a step beyond instant messaging, facilitating easy and direct communication between a company and its website visitors. BOScom pioneered this application with “Lynk & Talk” back in 1999, when the company was named Lynk Ltd. BOScom has revived this application with “Link & Talk,” which enables BOSaNOVA gateway owners to leverage VoIP and the benefits of BOS?NOVA gateway features.

What is it?

BOSaNOVA Link & Talk is a simple web phone application utilizing any BOScom BOSaNOVA IP Telephony Gateway, including Claro, V-Series, and ROBO. The application is an ActiveX implementation of SIP (session interface protocol) that is activated using any kind of HTML tag that is added to any Web page.

How does it work?

Anyone with a PC equipped with a full duplex soundcard, microphone and speakers (or headset) who is surfing the Internet via Internet Explorer (v5 or greater) can connect to any phone number pre-configured on any BOSaNOVA gateway — anywhere.

1.A user browsing with Internet Explorer surfs to a URL with Link & Talk, which is hosted on a company’s Web server.

2.The URL contains Link & Talk software that points to the BOSaNOVA Gateway Officer IP address and pre-configured phone numbers. When a destination is clicked (notating a specific phone number and person, office, group, or destination), thin client software is downloaded for first-time users, enabling VoIP communication. Subsequently, verification is made that the user has the most current client version.

3.Link & Talk software makes a SIP call (to a pre-configured phone number) routed over the Internet to the appropriate BOSaNOVA Gateway.

4.The BOSaNOVA Gateway “terminates” the call to the PSTN or PBX, where the phone or extension rings.

Why use it?
Link & Talk offers an immediate communication solution: for placing orders, providing information updates, getting clarification, or to just checking in while out of the office. There’s no need to look up a phone number, and the call is free.

How can it be used?

There are a myriad of applications for Web-based click and chat.

Your suppliers and dealers call direct to your purchasing or shipping departments.
Customers call direct to your tech support center, accounting department, sales offices, or contact center.
Your employees (or their families!) on vacation call the office to check in, call home or other family members (via gateway hop-off).
